Corrections & takedowns

An identity error should not quietly spread.

Product makers, rights holders, reviewers, merchants, and readers can flag an edition match, source, rights, privacy, or offer issue for traceable review.

What to report

Edition identity

Wrong region, factory, cut, year, piece count, dimensions, maker SKU, GTIN, artwork, or merged production run.

Evidence or attribution

Misstated source, duplicated lineage, wrong report meaning, unsupported summary, incentive, or missing disagreement.

Rights, privacy, or offer

Copyright, trademark, personal data, source objection, stale price, broken link, wrong stock, or merchant-match concern.

What to include

  1. The URL of the affected Piecefolio page.
  2. The exact title, field, image, source, or merchant offer at issue.
  3. A concise explanation of the problem and the correction requested.
  4. Supporting identifiers or primary-source links, where available.
  5. Your relationship to the product, source, work, person, or merchant.
  6. A reliable reply address. For a rights request, include the information needed to assess your authority.

Do not send passwords, payment-card data, broad private archives, or identity documents unless the operator specifically requests a necessary and secure follow-up.

How requests are handled

  1. Triage the affected record.

Identity, privacy, safety, active rights, and materially misleading commerce issues receive priority.

  2. Preserve the audit trail.

The source locator, observation date, method version, and prior record are retained internally where lawful and necessary.

  3. Check the claim against primary evidence.

The operator may ask for a maker specification, packaging image, rights statement, feed record, or other evidence.

  4. Correct, annotate, pause, or remove.

Ambiguous material may be limited while it is reviewed. A source connector can be paused after a formal objection or reliability failure.

  5. Close the loop.

Where practical, the requester receives the outcome and the public record shows a material correction or updated review date.

Timing and transparency

Requests are prioritized by severity, with identity, privacy, safety, active rights, and materially misleading commerce issues reviewed first. The corrections address is monitored, but no fixed response time is promised.

Not every disagreement requires removal. The preferred remedy for a factual error is correction; for contested experience evidence it may be clearer attribution, a visible minority report, lower confidence, or a temporary pause. Valid legal, privacy, or contractual constraints can require removal.

Merchant changes

A stale price or stock state can be corrected independently of the canonical edition and evidence record. The merchant page remains authoritative at purchase time. See the affiliate disclosure for the boundary between guide and seller.
